The method involves inductively producing a sine-type position signal (9) by a sensor arrangement (3) in a position (7a), which corresponds with a position of an emitter element (5). A cosine-type position signal (10) is produced in another position (8a). The sine-type position signal is phase shifted relative to the cosine-type position signal at 90 degree so that the sine-type position signal is relative to common periodic time (T). An angle position of the emitter element is determined based on the sine-type position signal and the cosine-type position signal by arctangent relationship. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for inductive determination of an absolute position of an emitter element.
