PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus including a hybrid type developing device provided with a plurality of toner carriers, wherein a magnetic pole position of a magnet roller included in a developer carrier is adjusted to an appropriate position for each toner carrier with simple constitution, and a developing interval between an image carrier and each toner carrier is kept uniform, whereby an image defect is suppressed to form a clear high-quality image. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is constituted so that the opposed part of the magnet roller to one toner carrier is adjusted and fixed at the appropriate magnetic pole position by rotating the magnet roller, and the opposed part of the magnet roller to the other toner carrier is adjusted and fixed at the appropriate magnetic pole position by turning the other toner carrier around the axial center of the magnet roller while keeping a fixed interval. Furthermore, the image forming apparatus is constituted so that a spacing member is provided to each toner carrier, and made to abut on the image carrier by a guide member and an energizing member provided to the image forming apparatus, thereby keeping a predetermined developing interval.
