PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image forming system capable of carrying out printing that brings the line width of a bar code close to an ideal value and raises contrast when printing the bar code on paper. SOLUTION: A resolution set to print data is changed to a higher resolution by a resolution changing part 34 when plotting the print data transmitted from a personal computer 10, by a plotting part 34. The minimum line width of the bar code in the changed image data is corrected to be thinner by a bar code line width correcting part 30.
