PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently protect a portable working machine when the portable working machine during operation is collapsed. SOLUTION: An engine generator 10 includes a gas engine 20, a working unit 30 driven by the gas engine, and a control unit 65 for controlling the gas engine and the working unit, and further has an acceleration sensor 64 capable of detecting acceleration in the horizontal direction generated in the portable working machine itself. The control unit obtains the angle of the inclination of the portable working machine based on the acceleration in the horizontal direction detected by the acceleration sensor, and gives a stop instruction to the gas engine when it is determined that the angle of inclination exceeds a preset reference angle.
