<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily producing a titanium oxide compound excellent in the sterilization rate and the decomposition rate of a harmful gas when it is used as a photocatalyst under irradiation with visible light. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a titanium oxide compound is a method for producing an iron oxide and a sulfur atom- or nitrogen atom-containing titanium oxide compound. The method for producing a titanium oxide compound includes preparing a raw material titanium oxide by reacting a titanium salt and an alkali compound or hydrolyzing a titanium salt, then mixing the raw material titanium oxide, an iron compound and a sulfur compound or a nitrogen compound, and firing the resulting mixture to obtain the iron oxide and the sulfur atom- or nitrogen atom-containing titanium oxide compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
