PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure radiation by an optimum system according to the energy of radiation (particularly gamma rays) without using a movable member and a large-scale mechanism.
SOLUTION: A detection unit 40 is constituted of a first detection unit 42 and a second detection unit 44. In a first measuring mode, the first detection unit 42 functions as a scattering detector and the second detection unit 44 does as an absorption detector. A Compton cone 74 is computed from a scattering point P1, an absorbing point P2, energy E1 in scattering and energy E2 in absorption, following the principle of a Compton camera. A three-dimensional radiation source distribution image (first image) is formed by a reconstruction operation by multiplexing thereof. In a second measuring mode, the first detection unit functions as a single detecting structure and three-dimensional radiation source distribution (second image) is formed by a maximum likelihood estimation expected value maximization operation based on the response characteristics of this unit and actual results of detection.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
|
