摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aluminum-containing silicon for n-type solar cells and a process for economically producing phosphorus-added silicon refined from the aluminum-containing silicon. <P>SOLUTION: The silicon for n-type solar cells includes 0.001-1.0 ppm of aluminum and 0.0011-1.1 ppm of phosphorus by mass concentration and has a phosphorus/aluminum mass concentration ratio of not less than 1.1. The process for producing the phosphorus-added silicon includes melting aluminum-containing silicon by heating to obtain a melt, and adding phosphorus to the melt, or adding phosphorus to aluminum-containing silicon to obtain a mixture, and melting the mixture by heating to prepare a molten mixture containing aluminum, phosphorus, and silicon, and solidifying the molten mixture under a temperature gradient in one direction in the mold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p>
