PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality electrochemical device and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In this electrochemical device, leads A1(K1) have a plurality of notches DP1, DP2 (DP3, DP4) spaced along the longitudinal direction (X-axis) of the leads A1 (K1) at the positions of a sealing section P1. The notches DP1-DP4 have triangular shapes. In this case, the number of the notches DP1, DP2 (DP3, DP4) spaced in the longitudinal direction is plural and a resin of a resin layer encroaches on each of the notches, so that the leads are firmly embedded into the resin layer.
