PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality electrochemical device and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the electrochemical device, leads A1(K1) include notches DP1, DP3 at a position of a sealing section P1. These notches DP1, DP 3 have triangular shapes so that the bottom sides face to each other. In this case, a resin of a resin layer encroaches on each of the notches DP1, DP3, so that the leads are firmly embedded into the resin layer, thereby the movements in longitudinal and width directions of the leads can both be sufficiently prevented.
