PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile information terminal device capable of effectively protecting privacy or security of a user. SOLUTION: In the case where authentication is failed when starting a PIM (Personal Information Manager) lock application (No, in step S104) which is lock-set, settings are changed to perform authentication processing (step S106) not only for the PIM lock application which is already lock-set, but also for a PIM lock application which is not lock-set. Thus, any other person who illegally uses a cellular phone 1 and tries to start the PIM lock application, but fails in authentication, can not start all PIM lock applications, thereby effectively protecting user privacy or security.
