PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Lundell type rotor which has excellent efficiency and can be easily manufactured. SOLUTION: A claw portion of each claw magnetic pole of the Lundell type rotor has a laminate steel plate portion or a resin core, facing a stator core. The laminate steel plate portion or the resin core has substantially the same shape as that of the outer circumferential portion of the claw portion. The laminate steel plate portion or the resin core has a protruding portion to be wedge-coupled with a recess of the claw portion. The resin core 11A can be formed by insertion molding. The protruding portion of the laminate steel plate portion 11 and the recess of the claw portion 520 are linearly formed in a substantial shaft direction. The widths of a circumferential direction of the laminate steel plate portion 11 and the claw portion 520 gradually change. The width of a diameter direction of a small gap between the claw portion 520 of the Lundell type rotor and the inner circumferential surface of the stator core are such that the width of a front end of the claw portion 520 is larger than that of a root portion of the claw portion 520 in a still state.
