PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration or the like of exhaust gas due to dripping of adhered fuel by efficiently guiding the adhered fuel adhered to a lower part of the tip of a fuel injection valve upward in a fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: A jacket 11 is prolonged toward a downstream side than an injection plate 8, and a communication hole 11H is provided in a direction crossing the injection plate 8 in a lower part, of this prolonged part, in the vertical direction when the fuel injection valve 1 is fitted to an internal combustion engine. The fuel injected from an injection hole 8H generates the negative pressure on a downstream side of a part near the injection plate 8, and this negative pressure is used to efficiently guide the adhered fuel 10 upward by sucking the adhered fuel 10 through the communication hole 11H.
