The present invention relates to a system enabling the detection of a very low spectral content signal, the fundamental frequency of which is on the order of a few gigahertz. The system includes a photodetector, a parallel resonance circuit, and an amplifier having a simple configuration. The system is capable of detecting very low-level signals and operates with low current consumption.
