Disclosed are: a single phase Fe16N2 powder which is obtained by subjecting iron oxide, iron oxyhydroxide, or if necessary, a starting material that is obtained by coating the particle surfaces of the iron oxide or iron oxyhydroxide with at least alumina or silica to a reduction treatment and a nitridation treatment; a method for producing a single phase Fe16N2 powder with a heating time within 36 hours; and an anisotropic magnet or bonded magnet which is obtained by magnetically orienting the single phase Fe16N2 powder. The Fe16N2 particle powder is commercially producible and has a large BHmax. |
