The device (2) has a structure (6) which forms a heat-conductive connection between an exhaust pipe (4), particularly a heater or a cogeneration unit and a condensate collecting container (8). The structure contacts an inner space or wall area of the exhaust pipe or the condensate collecting container in a heat conductive manner. The structure is grid-like or net- like or sieve-like and has a fabric. The structure or the condensate container is partially formed of metal, particularly copper, silver, gold, platinum, aluminum or metal alloys. An independent claim is also included for a method for discharging condensates.
