In cases where the titanium black dispersion is used for the formation of a light blocking film that is provided on one surface of a silicon substrate, which has an image pickup element unit on the other surface, for the purpose of blocking infrared light, not less than 90% of dispersed materials that are composed of the titanium black particles has a particle diameter of not more than 30 nm.
