摘要 <p>Analysis of the influence of substances on nerve fibers of projection systems, comprises (a) culturing e.g. (i) at least a first tissue sample, which is isolated from a first region of the CNS of an animal, (ii) at least a second tissue sample, which is isolated from a second region of the CNS of an animal, under cell culture conditions, (b) adding the substance to be examined, (c) determining whether the tissue samples between (i) and (ii) fiber tracts have formed, and (d) analysis of the fiber properties in the resulting images. Analysis of the influence of substances on nerve fibers of projection systems, comprises (a) culturing (i) at least a first tissue sample, which is isolated from a first region of the CNS of an animal, (ii) at least a second tissue sample, which is isolated from a second region of the CNS of an animal, under cell culture conditions, where the tissue samples (i) and (ii) are applied at the beginning of the culture side by side on a membrane, (b) adding the substance to be examined, (c) determining whether the tissue samples between (i) and (ii) fiber tracts have formed, and representing the fiber tracts with imaging methods, and (d) analysis of the fiber properties in the resulting images, where step (d) comprises (d1) thinning and extracting the fibers, (d2) determining nodal point of the extracted fibers and continuously reconstructing the fiber tracts between the nodal points, (d3) continuous representation, graph-based and/or interpolated representation of the fibers, where at least one of the following fiber parameters is determined as follows: (d4) determining the fiber density by calculating the proportion of foreground structures in the total image size or the number of edges by the graph-based representation of the fibers, (d5) determining the linearity of the fiber growth by calculating the angular distribution along the main growth direction and/or by main component analysis to determine the variation of orthogonal to the main growth direction based on the continuous representation and/or the interpolated representation and/or by analyzing the curvature along the fibers based on the continuous representation. Independent claims are included for: (1) a computer program product, in which step (d) of the process is carried out; (2) a computer or a data processing system on which the computer program product is installed; (3) a disk on which the computer program product is stored; and (4) a test system, preferably for the examination of the influence of substances on nerve fibers of projection system, comprising a computer program product, a computer or a data processing system or a disk and at least one of the other components comprising cell culture media, tracer, fixative, reference substances, an imaging system and manual.</p>
