A combiner (10A) for a Doherty amplifier comprises: on a single dielectric board (42), a carrier side input terminal (26); a peak side input terminal (28); an output terminal (30); a combining node (32) for combining an output from a carrier amplifier (12) with an output from a peak amplifier (14); a first ?/4 line (34A) connected between the carrier side input terminal (26) and the combining node (32); a second ?/4 line (34B) connected between the combining node (32) and the output terminal (30); and a first directivity coupler (40A). The first directivity coupler (40A) includes a third ?/4 line (34C) that is to be electromagnetically coupled to that one of the first and second ?/4 lines (34A, 34B) which is to be monitored.
