FIELD: oil and gas production. ^ SUBSTANCE: sea water is sampled. Collected material is analysed. There is determined concentrations of metals typical for oil deposits, notably vanadium and nickel. A region of oil deposit existence is established on base of observed change in contents of analysed elements in collected material. Also, not less, than 3-fold excess of background contents of the said elements in sea water indicates occurrence of an oil deposit. ^ EFFECT: increased reliability of oil deposit prospecting on sea shelf. ^ 4 cl, 4 dwg |
