<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize a gas flow in a supporting device for a brush seal 50 arranged between a fixed component 40 and a rotating component 46 of a tubo machine 10. <P>SOLUTION: The brush seal 50 has a downstream cover plate 54 with a lip 70 extending in the axial direction.
