PURPOSE: A backlight unit of a display device is provided to embody a local dimming using an edge type LED. CONSTITUTION: A display device comprises a liquid crystal panel, a plurality of LED modules(314,318) on the lower part of the liquid crystal panel, a light guide unit(310) including reflection patterns(312,316) formed on the light incident route, and a driving unit for driving the LED modules. The reflection patterns project light to different areas of the liquid crystal panel. A controller controls the driving unit to project light from the LED modules.
