<p>A method for transferring Tbyte sized daily tolerant bulk data using unutilized but already paid for capacity of a commercial ISP, in which a sender sends DTB data to a receiver through a transit link which carries background traffic, the method comprising:
- uploading DUB data, pushing the data through the transit link and downloading the data,
- dividing a period of time corresponding to the already-paid-for capacity into a plurality of equal internal of time;
- computing a free capacity of the transit link in each of said equal intervals, the free capacity being a difference between a charged data volume corresponding to the already-paid-for capacity in said transit link and the volume of background traffic in the transit link;
- uploading and pushing a data portion of the DUB data through the transit link in each interval, the data portion comprising a data volume being lower than the free capacity.</p> |
