PURPOSE: A monitoring apparatus is provided to easily recognize an operation state of an apparatus without damaging the design of an apparatus at low cost. CONSTITUTION: A surface cover(104) is located in the circumference of a rear cover. An imaging device photographs a subject and is accepted inside the surface cover. A back cover(106) is fixed to a surface in which the photographing apparatus is installed. An emitting unit examines the light. The installation surface is examined through a ventilation hole which is formed in clearance.
