The socket has a switch device provided with an operating button (12). A socket part (3) receives a contact part that contacts plug connector pin and electrical lines. A socket outlet central piece (4) is fastened at the socket part and receives a socket. The switch device comprises a printed circuit board (5) fixed at a carrier plate (13), and a key switch element (6) and an chip-like electronic component (7) for transmitting data and/or messages are provided on the circuit board. The circuit board stays in electrical conductive connection with the contact part by a connection element (8).
