PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same are provided to change the light color of a key according to a situation. CONSTITUTION: A key outputs colored light. A controller(180) determines the execution state of a currently loaded application. The controller controls the key in order to output the colored light according to an input command. The key outputs the light color differently by the command signal which is inputted from the controller.
