PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for generating stream are provided to signal information for processing a 3D image data and information for informing the provision of the 3D image data. CONSTITUTION: An elementary stream including 3D image data and related information for generating the 3D image data is created(S1010). A transmission stream can be generated from the elementary stream creates a section which includes the brief information for the provision of the 3D image data(S1020). The transmission stream is created for each section and the elementary stream(S1030).
