The present invention is directed to a process for quantitative determination of emissions, consisting of particulate matter, from surfaces of flexible sheet-like materials, wherein the flexible sheet-like material is fixed in a frame (4), introduced in a measurement chamber (18), flushed with highly-purified air and periodically moved by exposing to a mechanical stress, whereupon the particulate matter emitted by the flexible sheet-material is fed by highly-purified air to a detection device, whereby the mechanical stress is generated by waves, especially pressure waves or sound waves. Furthermore a device for quantitative determination of emissions consisting of particulate matter is also provided. ( Fig. 2 )
