PURPOSE: A heat measuring system of a discontinuous drive LED element is provided to enlarge the usage range of a discontinuous drive LED element by accurately measuring the performance variation of an LED element. CONSTITUTION: A power supply unit(12) discontinuously supplies power to an LED element(11). An oscilloscope(14) measures the electrical characteristic of the LED element. A thermoscope(15) measures the temperature of the LED element. A light measuring instrument(17) measures the luminous intensity of light emitted from the LED element. A controller(16) controls the drive of the LED element.
