PURPOSE: A power consumption control method of a portable terminal and apparatus thereof are provided to reduce power consumption in a sleep mode by blocking DB bias voltage. CONSTITUTION: An oscillator(622) generates a signal which controls a sleep mode or a hold mode of a portable terminal. An inverter(621) inverts a signal which is generated from the oscillator. A DC bias voltage blocking unit blocks DC bias voltage induced from a signal on a feedback line between the input unit and the output unit of the inverter. The DC bias voltage blocking unit includes a capacitor(624).
