PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a still picture display switching system in which a series of still pictures associated with words are sequentially switched and displayed, wherein switching and display of still pictures are easily performed in good timing in response to reading of the words without the need for a specific operation. SOLUTION: The still picture display switching system is configured such that a voice detection means 21 detects the presence/absence of a voice input signal of words-voice when a voice input section 19 reads words corresponding to a prescribed still picture, when the voice detection means 21 does not detect the voice input signal within a setting time stored by a first image display control section 32 to a setting time data section 31, the first image display control section 32 extracts a succeeding still picture from an image DB 33 and transmits the still picture to a display control section 16 so as to apply display switching of an image display section 17.
