METHOD FOR INTRAMEDULLARY OSTEOSYNTHESIS IN MULTIFRAGMENT DIAPHYSEAL FRACTURES OF LONG BONES

A method for intramedullary osteosynthesis in multifragment diaphyseal fractures of the long bones consists in inserting the hollow guide into the medullary canal. Then the blocking rod is inserted, and the guide is removed. The bone fragments are reduced. The openings for the blocking screws are cut in the bones. Prior to the insertion of the blocking rod. the scissor mechanism is put into the hollow guide with the aim of eliminating the interposition of the soft tissues and small bone fragments within the medullary canal. Then the scissor mechanism is removed and replaced by the blocking rod. Finally, the hollow guide is removed.
