A process for the preparation of pentaerythritol and dipentaerythritol involves condensation of ethyl aldehyde and formaldehyde in the presence of sodium hydroxide, isolation, separation and cleaning of formed products by conventional methods. The condensation of aldehydes is carried out in mixing reactor to which acetaldehyde, formaldehyde and sodium hydroxide are added. |
