The method involves turning a seam heel (4) towards an interior of an intermediate coating cover. Ends of the seam heel are withdrawn with respect to a contour of the intermediate coating cover. A free edge (8) is directed towards an interior of a format (2). A notch (10) is arranged to receive the seam heel. A periphery of the intermediate coating cover is sealed to obtain a final cover. The seam heel is inserted into the notch. The final cover is permanently placed in a mold. A padding block (13) is formed after expansion of foam. An independent claim is also included for a cushion, comprising a permanent cover.
