PURPOSE: Gradeability test apparatus and method of an electric vehicle are provided to determine the gradeability of the electric vehicle based on the speed change of the electric vehicle on a variable slope way by adjusting the slope of the slope way. CONSTITUTION: A gradeability test apparatus(200) of an electric vehicle comprises an electricity supply unit(220), a variable slope way(250), a slope adjusting unit(260), and a stopper(270). The electricity supply unit supplies power to the electric vehicle(210). The variable slope way supplies a slope way to the electric vehicle. The slope adjusting unit adjusts the slope of the variable slope way. The stopper is installed on the end of the variable slope way and stops the electric vehicle. The gradeability of the electric vehicle is determined based on the speed change of the electric vehicle on the variable slope way.
