PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting the partial discharge of a gas insulation switch and a system for the same are provided to receive a transmission signal and supply direct current power to the apparatus through an existing communication circuit. CONSTITUTION: A partial discharge detecting sensor(110) receives electromagnetic wave signal due to the partial discharge of a gas insulation switch. The received electromagnetic wave signal is converted into an alternating current type transmission signal. Direct current power(130) supplies the direct current driving power of a signal converter to the partial discharge detecting sensor through a communication circuit. A metering unit(150) receives the transmission signal and analyzes the abnormality of the gas insulation switch.
