PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably receive a fluid by a fluid absorbing member during a flushing process even when the fluid absorbing member is formed in a linear shape. SOLUTION: The fluid ejecting apparatus includes the linear fluid absorbing member 12 which extends along a nozzle row, and is relatively movable to a position retreating from a flying path of the fluid ejected from nozzles, and a vibration suppressing means 30 which damps vibration of the fluid absorbing member 12.
