PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a calculation amount is very large when a width of edge detection is increased in calculation of a feature value such as edge intensity with respect to an image of high pixels. SOLUTION: A skip coefficient n is determined in proportion to a number of pixels, and the pixels for calculating the feature value by a pixel selection step are eliminated for each of n pixels, and the calculation amount is suppressed. When calculating the feature value in a feature value partial calculation step, all of the pixels around the target pixel are not used for calculation, but the pixels are used with elimination for each of n pixels, and the calculation amount can be suppressed. When the feature value of the pixels not yet calculated is calculated by a feature value complement step, the feature value of the pixel nearest is applied, and the calculation amount is suppressed, and the feature value can be effectively calculated.
