PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active silencing control method with a smaller required calculation amount for enabling control with an inexpensive controller. SOLUTION: A control signal is obtained by convolution of a reference signal for generating a secondary sound wave by the control signal for interfering with a noise. A primary FIR filter used for the convolution is adopted with so-called FxRLS algorithm. The FxRLS algorithm calculation is carried out with a premise that diagonal elements F<SB>11, i</SB>(n) and F<SB>22, i</SB>(n) of the 2×2 gain matrix (F<SB>i</SB>(n)) are equal. In the estimation of the transmission characteristics of a secondary route, white noise (d<SB>1</SB>(n)) to be injected has intensity adjustable by multiplying an intensity adjusting parameter (V<SB>m</SB>(n)) provided by a predetermined formula.
