PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle-size measuring instrument capable of deciding the propriety of the evaluation result calculated in a particle-size calculation section. SOLUTION: The particle-size measuring instrument 10 is equipped with a light source 4 for irradiating a sample with a measurement light; a detector 151 for detecting the intensity of diffracted light due to the diffracted light produced by irradiating the sample with the measuring light; an applied voltage control part 31 for producing diffusion in the particle group to be measured within a medium, by stopping the voltage applied to an electrode 2 from a light supply 3 to produce a change in the diffracted light; and a particle size calculation part 35 for calculating the particle size of the particle group to be measured, on the basis of a timewise change in the intensity of the diffracted light from the intensity of the diffracted light at the diffusion start time being the stoppage time of voltage, is equipped with a display control part 33 for displaying a measuring graph showing the timewise change in the intensity of the diffracted light obtained by the detector 151. The display control part 33 displays a calculation graph, showing the timewise change in the intensity of the diffracted light, which is probably obtained, when the diffusion is produced, in a particle group having a known particle size in the state superposed on the measuring graph.
