PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device and a control method of a damping force variable damper, which cope with various inputs, and effectively restrains a change in a vehicle body posture. SOLUTION: A damping force control device includes a target damping force setting part 61, a damping force correction value setting part 62 and a target damping force correction par 63. The target damping force setting part 61 respectively sets target damping forces Dtf1-Dtrr of respective dampers based on vertical acceleration Gzf1-Gzrr as a detection value of a vertical G sensor approaching respective wheels. The damping force correction value setting part 62 respectively sets damping force correction values Dcf1-Dcrr based on the vertical acceleration Gzf1-Gzrr corresponding to the other damper for mutually interpolating the respective target damping forces Dtf1-Dtrr.
