PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome such problems that the adjustment of a spring force holding a conveying passage in an open state increases costs, and an opening/closing mechanism requiring no adjustment of holding force also increase costs. SOLUTION: A driving source for conveying a sheet, and a transmission mechanism transmitting a force from the driving source are provided on one of a first unit and a second unit, and while the holding force transmitted to the other of the first unit and the second unit from the transmission mechanism, the first unit is held in a position to bring the conveying passage into an open state.
