摘要
1,134,177. Door operating mechanism. WIEGAND ELECTRONICS CO. Inc. 31 May, 1966 [4 June, 1965], No. 24233/66. Heading E2M. An "up-and-over" door is opened and closed by means of a winch mechanism mounted on a lintel over the door. The winch mechanism, see Fig. 3, comprises a pulley 90 supported on shaft 86 driven by a reversible electric motor 84 through a speed reducer and' slip clutch coupling 85. A cable 12 is wound round the pulley, one end being attached to the bottom of the door and the other end being entrained around pulley 120 and attached to one end of a coil spring 125 affixed to an angle bar 125 attached to the top of the door, see Fig. 2. The door 20 is formed of hinged sections 16 -19 and has rollers 34 engaging channel-shaped guide rails 33. The cable wound on pulley 90 is engaged by an idler roller 94 mounted on a non-rotatable shaft 96, the roller having a sleeve 94' provided with a helically threaded portion engaging an internal thread in a splined gear 101 engaged with and rotated by gear 88. A limit switch 102 having an operating arm 104 is attached to shaft 96. In use, when pulley 90 is rotated the cable 12 is drawn around it, rotating idler roller 94 gear 101 also turns with gear 88 but does not advance axially on sleeve 94'. However, when the door reaches the limits of or is obstructed in its travel, cable 12 slips on pulley 90, idler roller 94 stops turning, gear 88 continues to turn rotating gear 101 which then slides to the right and operates the limit switch 102 by moving arm 104 to stop the motor. The shaft 86 carries an arm 106 terminating in a ring 107 around, but not attached to, the shaft. A spring 110 bears on a washer not shown, which bears against ring 107, which in turn bears against ring 114 attached to the shaft. When the shaft is rotated to lift the door, the arm is turned down to such an extent that it remains out of the path of travel of the door. When the motor is reversed to lower the door, the arm extends horizontally. The descending door pushes the arm down until it is clear of it whence the arm returns to the horizontal position. The function of arm 106 is to prevent the door from being raised manually from its lowered position. The door opening mechanism may be actuated by means of a key-operated or push-button switch mounted near or remotely from the door, or by a switch remotely controlled by radio signals, magnetic pulses, sonic or supersonic pulses. In a modification, see Figs. 9 and 10, cable 212 extends upwardly from bracket 216 at the front of the door, enters space S between the top of the door and the bottom of the lintel, is entrained at the rear of idler pulley 244, is wound around winch pulley 266, extends rearwardly over pulley 254 mounted at the top of pivoted bar 252, and is joined to the upper end of spring 260. The lower end of spring 260 is attached to an extension arm 256 on the lower end of bar 252. A further spring 264 is attached at one end to arm 256 and at its other end to angle bracket 265 mounted on the door. The winch pulley 266 has a spur gear 268 attached to hub 267 thereof, see Fig. 10. Gear 268 meshes with splined gear 272 loosely mounted on an end of non-rotatable shaft 274 pivotable about pin 276 at its other end. The shaft is biassed to the horizontal position by means of a spring 279. Splined gear 272 has an externally threaded hub meshed with an internal thread within idler pulley 283, which has a ball bearing 280 at one end. A limit switch 286 having an arm 287 carrying a roller 289 bearing against the splined gear 272 is mounted above shaft 274. A coil spring is mounted on shaft 274, one end being engaged in a hole in the shaft and the other end bearing against splined gear 272. When the door is in the closed position, it cannot be opened manually because bar 252, which is then in a vertical position, is obstructed by angle bar 240. When the motor is started by actuating a switch, shaft 270 turns drawing the cable onto pulley 266 and as the part of the cable extending from pulley 266 to spring 260 lengthens the spring contracts permitting sprinig 264 to contract and draw bar 252 rearwardly so that the door may now be raised without being obstructed by angle bar 240. When the cable reaches the limit of its upward travel, the door being in the overhead horizontal position, pulley 266 slips in cable turn 284 while shaft 270 with gear 268 continues to rotate. While the cable is being drawn up, the idler pulley 283 rotates with gear 272. However, when the cable stops moving, the stationary cable frictionally engages the idler pulley preventing it from rotating. The continuing rotation of gear 268 now rotates gear 272 sliding it axially to the left until limit switch 286 is actuated causing the motor to stop. In the event of the door being obstructed in its travel cable 212 will slide on winch 266 the odler pulley 283 will stop rotating, gear 268 will continue to drive gear 272 which will then slide axially to the left and operate the limit switch to stop the motor.
