The profile (1) has a detent area (4) engaged into a detent retainer of a mobile body part and made of thermoplastic material e.g. thermoplastic elastomer. A seal area (3) is made of synthetic rubber, where the profile is formed from a set of partial profiles connected by an intermediate piece manufactured by an injection molding process. The detent area, which is directly adjacent to the intermediate piece, is notched. The detent area exhibits a contour obtained by thermal deformation along the profile. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a sealing profile.
