<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alkylglycoside stable in hue and smell. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the alkylglycoside includes reacting a sugar with a higher alcohol, or reacting the sugar with a lower alcohol and then with the higher alcohol, keeping the obtained aqueous solution containing the alkylglycoxide at≥pH 8.5, simultaneously decoloring the solution with an alcohol represented by formula (I), R<SB>1</SB>OH, (wherein, R<SB>1</SB>is a 1 to 4C straight chain or branched chain alkyl group) and hydrogen peroxide, and further contacting the product with boron hydride compound represented by formula (II), M(BH<SB>4</SB>)<SB>x</SB>, [wherein, M is an alkali metal, Ca, Zn or (CH<SB>3</SB>)<SB>4</SB>N; (x) is 1, when M is an alkali metal or (CH<SB>3</SB>)<SB>4</SB>, or (x) is 2, when M is Ca or Zn] to decompose the residual hydrogen peroxide. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
