<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve cost reduction with respect to an electronic device having a display screen for displaying an image and a pointing device having a touch pad for moving a cursor on the display screen and operation buttons. <P>SOLUTION: The touch pad includes a sensor for detecting finger movement and a sensor cover 231 for covering the sensor, wherein the sensor detects movement of a finger put on the sensor cover. The operation button includes a switch and a switch cover 232 for covering the switch and receiving a depressing operation to push the switch.
