PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate for memory effect distortion component of a power amplifier by adding minimum circuitry and computational complexity. SOLUTION: In a digital distortion compensation circuit which multiplies a transmission baseband signal by a distortion compensation coefficient read from a reference table for distortion compensation (lookup table; LUT) based on the amplitude of the transmission baseband signal, the address of an LUT to be read is generated by performing FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filtering of the amplitude of the transmission baseband signal.
