PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust trapping device and a method for effectively removing dust such as cutting debris from the cut end face and its vicinity of a cut sheet material, and a cutting machine having the device. SOLUTION: The trapping device 1 for dust generated during cutting the sheet material includes a suction means 3 for having a suction port 2 in one face of the cut sheet material S, an air blow means 5 for having an air blow port 4 in the other face of the sheet material. By sucking air from one face of the sheet material S through the suction port 2 while blowing air from the air blow port 4 to the other face of the cut sheet material S, it traps the dust D deposited on and around the cut end face of the cut sheet material S.
