IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE AND IMAGE DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a distance from a display surface on which a stereoscopic image can be viewed, in a parallax barrier system.

SOLUTION: An image display device displays a corresponding right image and left image toward predetermined view points. The image display device includes: an image display unit that arranges and displays right division images and left division images prepared by dividing each of the right image and the left image into a plurality of regions in a predetermined sequence along a predetermined arrangement direction; a plurality of shielding parts that are provided separately from one another along the arrangement direction and shields a part of the image displayed by the image display unit; and a position control unit controlling distances from the display surface of the image display unit to the plurality of shielding parts.
