PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a printer, that performs printing on continuous paper, from starting to backfeed recording paper for printing the next print job before the user cuts the previously printed page. SOLUTION: The printer prints while conveying recording paper delivered from fanfold paper through a transportation path, and after printing cuts the recording paper using a cutter disposed near a paper exit. When printing ends, a control unit positions the perforation at the trailing end of the printed page to a printing position, and sets a tear-off state holding the recording paper in a state that positioning has been completed. When new print data are received in the tear-off state, the recording paper transportation operation is prohibited and the tear-off state is continued until a preset standby time passes. When the standby time has passed, the recording paper is immediately fed back and indexed for the next print job. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
