PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sales data processing apparatus and a program, allowing control of a notification method of error occurrence accompanying misoperation according to the kind of an error. SOLUTION: The sales data processing apparatus including an operation input means operated by an operator includes: a detection means monitoring key operation of the operator to the operation input means, and detecting the misoperation except prescribed key operation; a storage means storing setting information associated with the notification method wherein it is defined that a notification of the error is performed by sound output and/or image display in each kind of the error occurring by the misoperation; and a notification means notifying the error occurrence by use of the notification method corresponding to the kind of the error occurring by the misoperation every time the detection means detects the misoperation.
